How Machine Intelligence is Saving Lives
By University of St. AugustineJune 25, 2020
Artificial intelligence is improving healthcare and changing the lives of patients. In 2019, the AI in the global healthcare market was valued at 2.4 billion and is projected to reach $31.02 billion in 2025.
AI can improve diagnostics and treatment as well as boost patient engagement and support administrative operations. For example, consider the fact that 80% of healthcare claims are flagged by insurers as incorrect or fraudulent. This means that the current process is quite time consuming. Natural language processing tools can help insurers detect issues in seconds, rather than days or months. In 2019, 72 percent of insurance executives said investing in AI is one of their top priorities.
